The open water swimming world should learn from Philippe Lucas, according to Károly Törös. During his visit to Balatonfüred the renowned former swimming coach, now member of the board at the Hungarian Swimming Federation, concluded that the French master coach is one step ahead of the world’s open water swimmers.
“Philippe Lucas is on the top of the world when it comes to swimming, his competitors have dominated the Olympics and the World Championships, as well. The world should learn from him” said the mentor of many world class athletes. Tőrös believes it may be a key factor regarding the performance of Gergely Gyurta, Hungarian swimmer of men’s 25 k that he had the opportunity to work with Lucas for a year.
Károly Törös thinks Gyurta could be the the surprise man of the Hungarian open swimming team, he is satisfied already with what he has seen so far, and the Hungarians did their best. From his experience those colleagues of his visiting Hungary are all highly satisfied with circumstances.
“All those I have talked to emphasized they had never seen anything like this before. The coach of the excellent swimmer Chad le Clos, Graham Hill praised not only venues, but as a wine expert he was amazed by the wine from Balaton Uplands” told Károly Törös.
