Where do you start from?
The lake at the „Városliget” City Park had been used as of the 1830s for skating during the winters by children and adults. The ice rink itself had always played an important role in active winter sports’ life, since practically the whole city came here for amusement from the beginning of 1900.
Throughout its’ history “Városliget” ice rink hosted several winter sport events, among others served as the venue of the European Speed Skating Championship in 2012 after a full refurbishment. A bit similar to the act of the blockbuster movie “Frozen”, ice will turn to water converting this venue as the home of the world’s best synchronised swimmers.
With the giant sculpture-pantheon, the two classical museum-buildings and the Vajdahunyad Castle located in or close by to the square, the temporary pools will be set up in a fantastic location. The combination of the site, with the amazing routines of the world’s best synchronised swimmers, this location promises a once in a lifetime experience for everyone.
