Thousands of fans from abroad already have tickets for the 17th FINA World Championships and the interest keeps on growing. Local star Katinka Hosszú’s races, the water polo semi-finals and finals and the men’s 10m platform final are among the most popular events.
Early bird ticket sales for the 17th FINA World Championships (July 14-30, 2017) has started on December 1, 2016. There is already huge public interest for the Event – nearly 34 000 tickets have been solved in a month -, the second round of tickets will be released for sale in the early months of 2017.
The Budapest 2017 Organising Committee is proud to present affordable ticket prices, so everyone can enjoy the Water Wonder in Budapest, whether from Hungary or any part of the world.
The Dagály Aquatics Complex is the most popular venue with more than 21 000 tickets already out for the swimming, while nearly 7500 for water polo sessions at the Alfréd Hajós Swimming Complex.
Interestingly, almost an identical number of tickets have been sold so far for the three days of high diving competitions, showing great enthusiasm about the relatively new discipline and of course the lovely Budapest panorama.
As for the most preferred events: July 24 in swimming is extremely popular (with the women’s 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley, and presumably the participation of Katinka Hosszú). Lots of people want to see the women’s 800m final on July 29 (presumably with Boglárka Kapás, 200m backstroke (possibly with Katinka Hosszú) and the men’s 100m butterfly races (possibly with László Cseh and his big rivals, such as Chad Le Clos or Joseph Schooling). The last day of the swimming competition is also very popular, when both the men and women’s 400m individual medley events will be held at the brand-new aquatics arena.

Out of the 34 000, nearly 6000 tickets were bought from abroad, mostly from Great Britain (almost 900 tickets), China (nearly 800 tickets) but fans from the United States, France, Italy and Slovakia also show great interest about 17th FINA World Championships to be held in Budapest.
